This isn’t like the real world where people lose jobs and can’t find another one. If you’re not willing to work, quit asking the people who earn their stuff for handouts. There are plenty of ways to have mounts, pets, houses and gear if you’re willing to work. I’m interested to know what others do as far as the random beggars who just wander up and ask for stuff. As far as people on your friend list, I highly recommend the “remove friend” option. You can’t get somebody banned or muted for begging so all you can do is create your own policy. Kingsisle’s policy is hands off about this. A few days of playing FreeKI Games earns enough crowns to buy a pack that might give you a crown pet or mount. If you start earning lots of gold (gardening or lots of boss battles) you can afford to hatch a lower level pet with someone’s expensive crown pet. I put in a lot of time earning crowns through the FreeKI games. I sometimes spend a lot of time fighting the same boss to get a Crown drop. Every wizard has a mount purchased with gold that gardening brought in (sales of lots of extra Treasure Cards, pet snacks and reagents that are dropped at plant harvests).* Gardening has been earning enough gold for all my wizards to buy Crown houses and furnish them completely. These days most of the mounts, houses and a lot of furnishings in the Crown Shop are available for gold. When someone asks to add me as a friend and then starts asking for crowns, I remove them instantly from my friend list. If I’m trapped somewhere I tell them I’m out of crowns or that someone gifted me. When strangers come up and ask, I generally keep flying by or port home. I also earn a lot of crowns playing the trivia games on FreeKI Games. If I were going to “gift” anyone, it would be one of the few on my friend list with whom I regularly hang out–and they wouldn’t ask, which is one of the reasons why I’d like to give something. I can’t afford a lot of crowns and I don’t see why I should be expected to hand them over to strangers. Or someone makes a friend request and as soon as you say yes s/he asks if you have crowns. Wizards you’ve never seen before check out a crown pet or some crown gear–which you can get through hatching or drops–and ask if you will gift them with something, on an assumption that crown gear means you have crowns to burn. One of the sad realities in the Spiral is the amount of begging that goes on. So what creates the challenge? Or does KI just randomly pick challenge levels to assign without regard to energy required or whether they have fewer or greater needs? And various challenge level 7 plants with wildly different needs and energy use.

White Tiger Lilies, on the other hand, get all four needs most days and if you have a patch of them at least one is pretty much guaranteed to have rank 5 pests every day.īut you can see there are challenge levels 1 and 6 plants that require exactly the same care (2 needs, 1 pest) and energy use. Desparagus, for instance, sometimes goes a couple of days without a need or may have one need one day and the other one the next. There are some differences in frequency of needs. It has one need and can (often doesn’t) get rank 1 pests. They have two needs and get rank 1 pests. They have five needs and get rank 2 pests. They have four needs and rank 5 pest spells.

White Tiger Lily is level 7 challenge. They have three needs and require rank 1 pest spells. Silver Trumpet Vines are level 7 challenge. They have three needs and require rank 2 pest spells. Evil Magma Peas are level 7 challenge. These examples are based on caring for medium area garden patches: But the challenge levels don’t seem to relate to energy use or even how much care is required for the plant. If you’re playing on a budget and can’t afford to buy energy all the time, this is a big issue. The more energy is required to take care of a plant, the greater the challenge. Even with lots of experience I can’t figure out what is going on with the challenge levels of the plants. On my first account all six wizards had extensive gardens at one time. I’ve been gardening extensively for quite a while now.
